Burnout or Stuckness? Your Yin-Yang balance might be the reason why.
In Astrology, we associate all signs with either being “Yin” or “Yang.” Some also say “Feminine” for Yin or “Masculine” for Yang.
Air and Fire signs are considered Yang, while Earth and Water signs are considered Yin.
Yin symbolizes the nighttime, the moon, your inner world, feelings, slow movement, intuition, creativity, dreams, meditation, and surrender.
Yang symbolizes outward momentum, the daytime, solar energy, ambition, quickness, logic, and “reality.”
So which does your society value more? Which do you value more?
Are you so focused on your outward accomplishments that you forget about your bodily needs? Do you forget about the subtlety of the moment? Do you notice the sacred in the mundane? What is your relationship to spirituality and the unseen?
Or are you so focused on your feelings that it’s hard to grasp the idea of social climbing, that logic is sometimes key for decision making. Or maybe it takes you so long to feel something out, that the moment to take action has passed? Is it hard to snap out of your fantasy dream state?
You exist somewhere on this spectrum, and where you lie is symbolized in your birth chart.
Often, if you have a lot of Yang representation in your birth chart, your unseen, Yin needs, may be left unattended. Unseen needs, like the minerals your body needs in order to flourish or a lack of connection with the spirit world, will begin to cry out in various ways. Perhaps your dreams become colored by anxiety, or you may develop stomach problems, skin issues, and other physical ailments.
If there is an exaggeration of Yin, you may find it difficult to respond, to take action, to move forward with deeply felt creative plans. You may become more easily enmeshed in others' feelings, at times lost in a people-pleasing hamster wheel. You may need to turn inward but forget to then move outward.
You may swing between both pendulums, or be a balance of the two. You might even be more naturally Yin, forcing your body and mind to adapt to the external, Yang needs, at the expense of your own well-being. This is what I see a lot, especially in women I give readings to.
Becoming more attuned with these energies within you is essential to your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Too much Yang leads to inevitable burnout, while too much Yin leads to inevitable stuckness.
